BOARD OF DIRECTORS APPOINTS NEW GENERAL MANAGER
Sacramento, CA— July 26, 2024 — Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District (ACRPD) is proud to announce the appointment of a new General Manager.
During a public meeting on Thursday, July 18th, the Board voted and approved the contractual hiring of Ms. Brandy Kunakey Wade M.S., CPRP. Board Chairperson, Scott Miller, commented “The District Board is really excited for Ms. Wade to start right away. We hope her tenure with us is lengthy and we know she will be a great asset to our community.”
Ms. Wade started her new position on Monday, July 22nd while the current General Manager is in the process of transitioning to his new employment. Brandy is an award-winning program professional with over 20 years of field and administrative experience in recreation, parks, events and programs. She holds a Master’s Degree of Science in Recreation and Sports Sciences, two (2) Bachelor’s Degrees in Recreation Science and Management, and multiple professional certifications. She has a strong passion for the outdoors and nature. Her creativity in programming will enhance the current level of service.
Her most recent public agency role included oversight of programs and administrative duties for the Orangevale Recreation and Park District where she made a positive and lasting impression. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her two daughters and thrifting in local farmers’ markets. Ms. Wade has a clear understanding of the vital importance Recreation and Park Districts play by supporting safe, and clean parks for residents to enjoy.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN that official Nomination Petitions and Declaration of Candidacy for eligible Sacramento County residents desiring to file for an elective office may be obtained from the Sacramento County Elections Office at 7000 65th Street, Suite A, Sacramento, CA 95823- 2315, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m., excluding holidays. Candidates can schedule an online appointment to file all nomination documents between the hours of 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and may do so on our website at www.elections.saccounty.gov. Individuals wishing to download the Candidate’s Guide may do so on our website at www.elections.saccounty.gov
Candidate filing began on Monday, July 15, 2024, and ends on Friday, August 9, 2024, to file Declaration of Candidacy and Candidate Statement with the Office of the Registrar of Voters. If an incumbent who is eligible to file for re-election fails to file their Declaration of Candidacy by August 9, 2024, there is a 5-calendar day extension allowed for any qualified person other than the incumbent to file for the office. The 10-calendar day review period for Candidate Statements submitted by August 9, 2024 (E-88) will begin on August 10, 2024, and conclude on August 19, 2024. During this 10-calendar day review period, any person may seek a writ of mandate or injunction requiring any or all the material in the candidate statement to be amended or deleted.
All writs of mandate must be filed no later than the end of the 10-calendar day public examination
period. (Elections Code § 13313)

Goat Grazing & Me @ ACP!
PRESS RELEASE // For Immediate Release // Starting this week - Saturday, June 8th June 2024 -
Arcade Creek Recreation and Park District (ACRPD) is partnering with “Intergrazers,” a Systems Managed Grazing organization to support landscape maintenance and fire prevention along the Arcade Creek near Garfield Ave and Hemlock Street. Grazing will encompass the trail starting at Arcade Creek Park Bridge and continue American River College. The entire trail from the crossing bridge Joe Smith Trail concluding past the Garfield Bridge and ending at the American River crossing bridge. This section of the trail will be CLOSED to users while grazing is being conducted. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you enjoy the naturally cleaned trail at the end of the grazing.

Your new playground for ages 5-12 features exciting slides, climbing rope net and more will be available very soon! With the final inspection just a few days away, your Park District is happy to provide this wonderful amenity for young people in our community. The security fence will be removed shortly after certification of the final inspection. Once the fence removal is complete, we welcome everyone to enjoy the new playground.
